Why Moogie?

I am Moogie to both of my grandchildren, Kari and Elijah. Kari is the oldest and when my daughter was pregnant, she wanted to know what I wanted her kids to call me. I originally chose Noni, which is Italian for Grandmother. Well to be frank, I'm not even a little Italian. 

  I was watching a rerun of Star Trek DS9, the one about Quark and Rom and their Mother 'Ishka' to whom they called Moogie. Rom's son Nog also called her Moogie... 

I liked it! 

So that's how I became Moogie.
